Join Fort Bend Family Promise as we celebrate the Spring season with a May Day Celebration filled with family fun at our new Day Center, located at 4645 Cartwright Road in in Missouri City.
This event is free and open to the public. Families are invited to drop by between 2 and 5 pm on Sunday, May 15th to enjoy games, crafts, music and delicious treats. We will have a traditional maypole decorated with brightly colored ribbons and flowers and maypole dances by the Ridge Point Royals Dance Team.
"We completed the move into our new Day Center in January, and now that the weather is nice, we want to invite the community to come see the new facility and have fun with our family guests, staff and board members," said FBFP Executive Director Vera L. Johnson.
"It's going to be fun afternoon. We especially hope to see many of our volunteers, donors and anyone interested in learning more about how Family Promise is working to empower homeless families to attain self-sufficiency," added FBFP Board President Elizabeth Butler.
Fort Bend Family Promise staff and board members will provide tours of the new Day Center and share information on how the organization is transforming the lives of homeless families in our community.
Behind the Day Center, families can enjoy games, an ice-cold drink, popcorn, snow cones, candied apples and more. Kids will love the bounce house, face painting and crafts. A basketball challenge will entertain the older kids. Activities will be provided by more than a dozen area churches, community groups and organizations.
Fort Bend Family Promise is a non-profit that mobilizes churches in Fort Bend County to provide shelter, meals and comprehensive support to families experiencing homelessness -- because every child deserves a home.
